Smeg Instruments provides dedicated refrigeration solutions for the safe storage of blood bags, plasma and other sensitive biological materials. Designed for hospitals, blood transfusion centres, laboratories and research facilities, the range combines accurate temperature management, robust construction, alarm protection and long-term data traceability.

The portfolio includes Blood Bank Refrigerators for controlled positive-temperature storage and Plasma Freezers for low-temperature preservation. Both product families are available in Evolution and Basic versions, allowing facilities to select the most suitable level of digital control, monitoring and connectivity.

All models are certified as Class IIa medical devices in accordance with EU Regulation 2017/745 (Annex IX).

Smeg Blood Bank Refrigerators are designed for reliable storage of blood bags under controlled positive-temperature conditions. The range is available in capacities from 100 to 1,400 litres, supporting storage requirements from small hospital departments to large blood bank facilities.

The units feature insulated double-glass self-closing doors, with two doors on the 1,400-litre model, allowing clear visibility of the stored contents while helping maintain internal conditions.

Smeg Plasma Freezers are designed for the secure storage of plasma bags at controlled low temperatures. The range is available from 160 to 700 litres, with storage capacities from 96 to 330 bags.

All models include a self-closing solid door, static evaporator and manual defrosting, providing a stable environment for frozen plasma storage.
